Specific bequest of property in a Will
If client has specific bequests, these should be listed in the Will. Recommend against the client writing notes on a piece of scrap paper and attaching to Will.  Specific bequests are sometimes jewelry that mom wants to go to a particular daughter or granddaughter. Men sometimes have their valuable baseball cards, coins, etc. Unless the car is a classic, typically just say “any cars”. If the Will does not provide for specific bequests, either the children will work out who gets personal property, or the executor will just have the personal property sold. There is usually no value to furniture and personal property beyond garage sale value.
